Virtual Workshop – Avoiding Wage & Hour Pitfalls….in New Jersey

The New Jersey Association of Counties (NJAC) is pleased to present a discussion on AVOIDING WAGE & HOUR PITFALLS ALONG WITH COMPENSATORY TIME IN NEW JERSEY as the latest in a series free virtual workshops NJAC will host in 2024 on a variety of topics that impact county governments across the State. This presentation will examine the basic rules of the Federal Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) and the New Jersey State Wage and Hour Law. The workshop will focus on what is considered compensable time, what it means to be an exempt employee under these laws, and address the most common wage and hour pitfalls employers must be careful to avoid. The seminar will also discuss compensatory time and its applicability to public employees in New Jersey.
