Shade Tree Spring Forum

Monmouth County Public Works & Engineering Department is hosting a Shade Tree Spring Forum on Wednesday, March 27th, at the Monmouth County Fire Academy located at 1027 Highway 33 East in Freehold, NJ.  The event begins at 8:30 a.m. and concludes at 3:00 p.m.

This free event provides the opportunity for you to network with colleagues and experts in the shade tree field and keep current on emerging issues and reducing risk in community forestry.

CEU credits are available!!

Registration begins at 8:30 a.m. and presentations commence at 9:00 a.m.

  • 9:15 a.m.  Grown in Monmouth Program by Monmouth County Director of Economic Development
  • 9:30 a.m.   Looking Forward:  A Chat on Tree Selection and Planting for Residential Landscapes and Communities by Dr. Jason Grabosky, Professor of Rutgers University – SEBS, Department of Ecology, Evolution & Natural Resources, NJAES
  • 10:30 a.m.  Snow Fence  by Ellias Sarrinikolaou of Monmouth County Landscape Architect, Design, Plant Selection and Installation of Living
  • 11:00 a.m.   Establishing Municipal Tree Canopy Goal by William Gerth of Shrewsbury Borough Shade Tree Commission
  • 11:15 a.m.  Lunch (not included – attendees are responsible for their own lunch arrangements)
