(Trenton) Amazon has made a $21,000.00 contribution to the NJAC Foundation for county vocational- technical school graduates who plan on continuing their education at a county college or state college or university. Since 2022, Amazon has contributed over $51,000 to the NJAC Foundation, which has helped over 63 county vocational-technical school graduates  continue their education at home in the Garden State.

“The Board of Trustees of the NJAC Foundation is grateful to Amazon for its continued generosity and we look forward to sharing this outstanding opportunity with our county vocational-technical schools for them to select scholarship winners committed  to advancing their education.” commented NJAC Foundation  President Arthur  Sypek.

Pursuant to the contribution, the NJAC Foundation will award one scholarship of $1000.00 to a student nominated by the superintendent of their school in all twenty-one counties.

“At Amazon, we believe in providing  people  with  the  training  and  skills  necessary  to build the career they want. It’s why we launched our Career Choice program, which pre- pays tuition, job training, and other educational opportunities for all eligible operations employees. And it’s also why we work with organizations like the NJAC Foundation. We look forward to our partnership that continues to make  a  positive  impact  in communities across New Jersey,” said Dave Vitali, Public Policy Manager for Amazon in New Jersey.

Amazon now employs over 46,000 people in New Jersey and is committed to help upskill the American workforce. Amazon recently announced a commitment to pre-pay college  tuition,  books,  and fees,  as well as high school diplomas, GEDs, college preparatory courses, and English as a Second Language (ESL) proficiency certifications, for its operations employees through the Career Choice program. Amazon jobs also come with an average starting pay of over $20 per hour, more than twice the federal minimum wage. In addition, Amazon offers a comprehensive benefits package to all regular full-time employees, which includes health insurance from an employee’s first day on the job, a 401(k) plan with a company match, up to 20 weeks of paid leave for birthing  parents, free mental health support, and more.

The NJAC Foundation is a 501 (C)(3) non-profit organization affiliated with the New Jersey Association of Counties (NJAC) and is committed to providing financial assistance to county vocational-technical school graduates who plan on continuing  their  education  at  a  county  or  state  college.  Please  visit  www.njac.org for additional details about the NJAC Foundation.
