On Friday, January 28, 2022, at 11:00 a.m., Monmouth County Administrator Teri O’Connor was sworn in as NJAC’s 81st President during its Annual Reorganization Meeting in the Senate Chambers of the New Jersey State House. Ms. O’Connor is the first County Administrator to serve as NJAC President.
Monmouth County Sheriff Shaun Golden led the flag salute prior to Monmouth County Commissioner Dominick DiRocco performing the invocation.
Mercer County Commissioner and 2021 NJAC President John A. Cimino administered the oath of office to the NJAC Board of Directors and Executive Officers. The 2022 Executive Officers are:
- NJAC 1st Vice President & Camden County Commissioner Jonathan L. Young, Sr.
- NJAC 2nd Vice President & Hunterdon County Commissioner Shaun C. Van Doren
- NJAC Secretary/Treasurer & Somerset County Commissioner Director Shanel Y. Robinson
- NJAC Immediate Past President & Mercer County Commissioner John A. Cimino
Monmouth County Commissioner Director Arnone administered the oath of office to Ms. O’Connor. Three of her grandchildren joined Ms. O’Connor on stage holding the bible as she was sworn in. Ms. O’Connor thanked her family, friends, NJAC Executive Director John G. Donnadio, Esq., NJAC Board of Directors and audience members for the opportunity to lead the Association. She led the meeting with the first order of business to approve the December 10, 2021 meeting minutes, December 31, 2021 financial reports, and its resolutions.
Assemblyman Robert D. Clifton of New Jersey Legislative District 12 provided a speech of congratulatory remarks to Ms. O’Connor.
Senator Declan O’Scanlon of New Jersey Legislative District 13, Assemblyman Gerry Scharfenberger of New Jersey Legislative District 13 and newly elected Assemblywoman Vicky Flynn, also of New Jersey Legislative District 13, joined the ceremony supporting Ms. O’Connor.
Ms. O’Connor’s husband, children, grandchildren and parents also attended the ceremony.
Once the ceremony ended, all were invited to a catered luncheon at the Historic Trenton Masonic Temple. The luncheon was sponsored by Investors Bank, NorthStar Strategies and PKA Technologies. Many thanks to our sponsors and all those that attended the ceremony.
