The New Jersey Association of Counties (NJAC) presented a discussion on Survivor Inclusion in Combatting Human Trafficking in New Jersey Counties as the latest in a series free virtual workshops NJAC is hosting in 2024 on a variety of topics that impact county governments across the State.  In this session, viewers heard directly from a survivor about how including the voices of those who have lived with the experience is not only the solution to making New Jersey citizens aware that human trafficking is happening in our counties, but is also the way forward for human trafficking prevention.  This educational presentation began with an explanation of human trafficking in legal terms, showing that this criminal act, mostly driven by financial gain, involves the use of force, and coercion for the purpose of forced labor or sexual exploitation.
