The NJAC Reorganization Meeting was held on Friday – January 29, 2016 – where Hunterdon County Freeholder John King became our 75th President.  The meeting and Swearing-In Ceremony took place in the Senate Chambers of the New Jersey State House at 11:00 a.m.

NJAC Executive Director John G. Donnadio, Esq. welcomed guests to the Annual Reorganization Meeting and Swearing-In Ceremony of the 2016 Board of Directors and Executive Committee Members.  Mrs. Helen S. King, wife of NJAC President & Hunterdon County Freeholder John W. King, led the Pledge of Allegiance while Pastor Nathan Tuckey from South Ridge Community Church of Clinton performed the invocation.   Special guests such Congressman Leonard Lance, Assemblyman Jack Ciattarelli of NJ Legislative District 16, and Assemblyman Erik Peterson of NJ Legislative District 23 were recognized.  Additionally, Richard “Dick” Lane – NJAC Transportation Consultant of Greenman-Pedersen, Inc. – was awarded a certificate of recognition for his many years of dedication and service to the New Jersey Association of Counties.  Many wishes to him in his retirement.

Senator Christopher “Kip” Bateman of NJ Legislative District 16 was introduced and administered the Oath of Office to the 2016 Board of Directors and its Executive Committee Officers.

The 2016 Executive Committe members are as follows:

President – John W. King, Hunterdon County Freeholder

1st Vice President – Heather Simmons, Gloucester County Freeholder

2nd Vice President – Gary J. Rich, Sr., Monmouth County Freeholder

Secretary/Treasurer – Brendan W. Gill, Essex County Freeholder

Immediate Past President – Ann M. Cannon, Mercer County Freeholder

United States Congressman Leonard Lance of NJ Legislative District 7 provided the keynote address, emphasizing the importance of county government.  The meeting and ceremony ended after NJAC President John King gave his address.  Guests were invited to a lunch reception at the NJ State Museum.  The reception was catered by the culinary students and staff of Hunterdon County Polytech High School.
